Masterplan consultation expected to be town’s most important event
On November 6, 2009
The masterplan consultation in Whitehill Bordon is expected to be one of the town’s most important events.
Residents are being urged to give their views on the masterplan which will guide the future vision of the town and in particular to decide on the location of a new school – and they could win £500 for giving their opinions.
The prize draw has been increased to £500 cash, it was previously £100, to encourage residents to have their say.
The drop-in events kick-off on Thursday November 12 at Bordon Junior School – from 6.30pm – 9pm .
And there is also an all-day drop-in event at the Forest Community Centre on Saturday November 14 from 10am until 4pm .
As well as this there will be stakeholder events and the exhibition will also be taken to the surrounding parishes in the weeks following the main consultation.
Cllr Ian Dowdle, the chairman of the Whitehill Bordon Opportunity Executive Group, said: “I would like to invite all residents to these consultation events on behalf of the local councillors and everyone who has worked hard to ensure that together we will have the town that meets our expectations.
“It is one of the most important moments in the town’s history.
“Your feedback from the previous consultations has been fed into the masterplan and now we want to know what you think about it.”
East Hampshire District Council is sending out questionnaires in the post to all residents living in the GU35 area inviting them to the events and asking for their feedback.
Completed questionnaires must be returned by 24 th December – but those which want to be in with a chance of winning the prize draw must have their questionnaires back to East Hampshire District Council by 11 th December as the prize draw will take place at the town’s Christmas festival on the 12 th December.
The masterplan exhibition will also be available on www.whitehillbordon.com on Thursday November 12 to coincide with the first consultation event.
